Office Romance
Internal rhyme
My heart bleeds, needs you
You are kind, blind to me
Continually, I sigh, shy away
Later, an obtuse excuse occurs to me
I slink, wink into your office.
"Isn't this your favorite pen, then?"
"I don't know, show me."
When we touch, such electricity.
A shake of your head, "Why no. Go, I'm busy. Sorry."
I deflate straight away.
I reach for the door more disappointed than before.
"Wait!" you say, "Come here, near."
I'm turning, burning with conflict.
I slur, "Sir?"
"At ease. Please, bring coffee."
I leave, naive, bereave the could be
Coffee in hand, bland, as you like it.
Maybe a little spill will get you back?
No solution, retribution.
I walk away, delay at the doorway.
"Anything more before I leave?"
"You're a delight. Tonight, drinks?"
That's it! I commit, quit.
I run at you to kiss. Bliss!

Author's note: I wanted to play with internal rhyme.
My rule for myself was that I had to have two adjacent rhyming words in every line. Fun challenge!
