Ode to the Umbrella

Amidst the sky's tearful refrain,

When clouds gather, releasing their pain,

There emerges a guardian, both sturdy and true,

Oh umbrella, we sing our ode to you.

With a canopy spread, a shield so wide,

You stand by our side, our trusted guide,

Against torrential bursts, and drizzles slight,

You ward off the wet, keep us aright.

In hues varied, patterns bold and discreet,

Under scorching sun, you help us get by,

Your slender spine, and ribs that unfold,

Tell tales of storms, and sunsets of gold,

You wrestle and resist, dispelling all doubt.

In moments unplanned, when skies suddenly weep,

Into bags and briefcases, you silently creep,

Ready for duty, ever so alert,

Ensuring our clothes remain free of dirt.

Oh umbrella, symbol of shelter and grace,

You're more than just fabric and a metal frame,
