Ode to the Pen
Such a Simple Little Thing
Oh, what a wonderful thing a pen can be,
Ready to turn ideas into marks on paper,
Just how those bronze age people carved stone to decree
themselves the great language creator.
Ink flies like spit from the mouth of the inspired,
Boldly spreading the dark scribbles of a person's mind.
Until a finger or two curls in discomfort, protesting the tension,
A pen that works can be hard to find,
Especially when one's thoughts are raptly fired,
But once one has been acquired,
The world can be anyone’s invention.
A/N: An ode to the simple pen! I hope you enjoyed this little poem. It was certainly a learning experience to learn how to write an Ode! But one I enjoyed as it allowed me to take a break from a very consuming and exciting new project (being released here soon!).

Brilliantly done! Love it, ThatWriterWoman 💕🙂
So simple yet so beautifully written! I loved your ode!
Excellently structured and worded ode. Nice work: "Ink flies like spit from the mouth of the inspired, Boldly spreading the dark scribbles of a person's mind."
I love this TWW!!! Especially the line about how one that works can be hard to find!! The all too relatable scramble to find a working pen and write down ones thoughts is beautifully captured! Great work!
This is spot on. A great shot at the challenge.
Loved this and cant wait to check out your new project!
