Colorful artwork

Lines the paths through the park

In rich shades of red, gold and green

Colorful people

Passing, taking it in

Enjoying the sights of the city

It’s more than a place

It’s a state of mind

A small piece of heaven on earth

The smell of fall in the air

Golden streets on display

Weekend wanderers understanding its worth

Crisp, cool mornings and coffee

Vendors selling their wares

Sweaters matching the shades in the trees

Willing witnesses

As the city transforms

And summer drifts away on the breeze

Leaves leave imprints on the sidewalks

As fall leaves imprints on our hearts

Smiles shared together with strangers the feeling that October starts
