Ocean Letter

I wrote a letter to the ocean today…

As the words crawled across the pages,

The tide rolled in and punctuated every phrase.

So many feelings dancing around inside my brain.

Thoughts and questions I have felt, but never have I shared,

Now pouring out of me like sweat, upon the pages I've prepared.

And to whomever this letter finds...

I hope and pray you might take the time

To read my words out loud,

Without the fears that I feel inside.

That which often makes it somewhat hard for me to speak.

And if you should choose to reply,

I'd love to hear what's on your mind,

And every time the waves roll in,

I'll be waving back at you my friend.

Whispers on the water,

All my secrets are yours to keep.
