Oh Christ, I'm doing it again.
.
I am falling through the seasons.
Slipping on strong legs, sliding through
The flaming colors of autumn into a pit of glass,
Into the frozen revelation that this is happening again.
The madness hums inside me and if I open my mouth
On this clear December night, I can hear the buzz.
I cannot peel it from me because the frost
Has already crept across my roots.
.
I can't back out of this feeling,
This obsessive bending of reality.
.
There is a knot inside of me unyielding to reality.
I can taste the shadows of your room and see
The way they gather in your throat like
Secrets, clinging and cloying, a stain
On the crispness of a scent that's lodged
In the endless caverns of these sparse thoughts.
.
But I can taste you there
In the obsession rhythms
Of a novel kind of madness.
