As I stumble upon the vast parched sand,i

As I stumble upon the vast parched sand,

My eyes in desperate search to quench my thirst.

What of this band of blue I seek?

Into a new world,

I dare to peek.

A world where knowledge is the Oasis

An open mind is the starting base.

To see each other as we are,

See the heartache upon our face.

Without discrimination and obliteration.

We all want to live in peace

Be free to chase our dreams.

No matter what they may be.

So long as we don't force our beliefs upon many others

Taking their homes as if they have no right.

Why must the world be at odds,

Why must we put our minds towards a deadly fight?

Instead we can choose to have an open mind steeped in knowledge.

Quench our souls from the pool of humanity.

Instead, so many in power seek chaos and death.

Why do we choose to be led like sheep by propaganda?

By those who have a macabre agenda?

Why must we spend billions on weapons of mass destruction?

Why must we believe everything media projects as truth when it's based on lies and evil intentions?

Why are some lives deemed more worthy than others?

When we are only here but by the grace of God.

It's time to open our eyes,

Our heart and mind.

Ignorance leaves us in a bind

It's time to open our hearts;

Be more kind

Before it's too late,

And death has sealed our fate.
