Now you know

The troubles you will never have to experience

Dear sister,

darling sister,

I wish you well

every single day.

I hope you eat well,

sleep well,

sleep those aching muscles away.

Dear sister,

darling sister,

as your older sibling,

I can shield almost everything for you.

As time passes,

as much as it hurts me,

I know I have to create miniscule gaps

in my force field.

The world is cruel and unforgiving,

I wish it were not so,

I gave up my eyes and my vision of a fantastical world,

a fantasy world where everyone lives in peace and bliss

so that you can continue dreaming

and become a beacon,

shining bright towards your future.

Dear sister,

darling sister,

I know you want to try and experience

everything new,

but let me tell you

from my own experience and the wisdom I've gained

from our powerful ancestors

that you must always tread with at least

an ounce of caution

for this world is not one that is full of bliss

and free from terrors.

Dear sister,

darling sister,

I am glad you still talk to me,

consulting in me and

telling me your hopes and troubles.

Slowly, surely, you will find the bright future

you are looking for,

grasping it firmly with your entire soul.

And then, finally, it'll be time to let you go.

It'll be time to let you go.
