Now is the time to start loving yourself.

It’s not selfish; it’s important.

YOU must first love yourself before anybody else can love you.

To obtain the love of others, you must first find significance in your own life.

Praise yourself when you accomplish the smallest of the tasks, rather than putting yourself down.

When you make a mistake, acknowledge it and allow the thought to pass through your mind fleetingly without beating yourself up over it.

Don’t put yourself under unnecessary strain by striving for unprecedented goals.

That’s unrealistic and could lead to painful failure every time which will just discourage you more.

There are a few easy steps to begin loving yourself today. Let’s get started.

Be your own best friend, acknowledge the things that you’ve done well or just for existing in this world.

Realize what is so good about you are and start using it as motivation to move forward instead of holding onto things that aren’t as positive.

Start a journal and document your progress here on Medium. This will help you track the good things that are happening in your life and give you something to reflect on when things get tough.

Talk positively to yourself in the mirror, even if you don’t believe it at first start with baby steps of just pretending.

The more you do these things, the more it will start to sink in and you’ll begin to feel better about yourself.

Self-love isn’t a one-time event; it’s a lifetime journey you get to create and then walk.

There will be good days and bad days, but as long as you keep trying then you’re heading in the right direction.

Learn to appreciate yourself, your faults, and all of it.

This is who you are.

This is where you stand right now.

Don’t try to be someone else when it comes to being yourself.

Let’s accept ourselves with loving-kindness.
