Now is not your time to die

Death is not the answer

Now is not your time to die

He stood at the railway station

waiting for the train.

The thought of what she had done

too much to take.

He left his goodbye notes.

He stood like a tower

ready to fall.

The train came closer.

He was ready to jump, goodbye,

he bid this world, goodbye.

For his life, as tears flowed.

Just as he jumped, two strong arms

of an angel caught him

and whisked him to safety.

He was shocked by the light.

His angel smiled.

“It’s not your time;

you are needed here, young man.”

He gasped for breath, the weight still heavy,

but warmth replaced the numbing cold.

The angel’s grip was firm yet steady,

a force that would not break or fold.

“Why save me?” he whispered, shaking,

eyes still drowning in despair.

The angel’s gaze was calm, unbreaking,

love and purpose woven there.

“You are needed, don’t deny it.

The world may feel like sharpened knives,

even through the endless quiet,

You feel there’s no meaning left.

Trust me God has plans for your life.”

The station lights flickered dimly,

as if to echo what was said.

He just stood there,

hollowed out and trembling,

but no longer wished that he were dead.

From that moment, he understood

what is meant and is not to be.

He owes his life to God’s angels,

who showed him how it was going to be.

Now, ten years after, happily married,

two children and a wonderful wife,

he is so glad

God’s angels saved him that night

and led him to a future

worth living, and bright.
