Not for My Gold

A reflection on aging, loss, and the futility of trying to hold on

By Rohitha LankaPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

"Yavahan" - Not for my gold.

Put out the fake teeth like a cocoon

Exploding like a quarry in the middle of the day

There is no clothes to cover the body

You are the only one I can't make up for, Jalmariya

I have been dancing for so long

I can't go on the road anymore

I am unhappy when I see you

I will not go for a long time and get stuck

My body is like a rotten tree

I can't stay together anymore

Even if the one who is going is going to break it

When the time comes, I will not be separated. Anger

At sixty, I am trying to be a fool

There is no use in giving it away from now on

It is better for the family.
