not away

the away collection

I’m away

and you’re not

You are home

and I’m far

I saw the world

and you didn’t

I climbed the mountains

flew the skies

crossed the oceans

broke some hearts

Never understood

what family was

Never cared

never wanted

never needed at all

Then I met you

and my world turned

My heart aches

every time I’m away

every time I’m far

My heart’s heavy

in my chest

in my mind

It’s looking for you

my eyes blind

Then I come back

I open the door

and you’re there

with three tails wagging

craving for our attention

Then we hug

we kiss

we fight

we love

and we fight some more

At some point

we’re laying in a pile

with three tails wagging

then you smile

And now I know

I’m not away

I’m home
