The feeling is unmistakable,

can you hear them calling?

From halfway across the world I hear it,

the screams of those already falling.

***

The benefit of an expiration date, a day never seen,

is what gave us such strength, the strength to do it all.

Decisions that we made were less than understood,

and it was those decisions that were leading to our downfall.

***

Heroe's, one an all,

took the invitation.

They hunted, they tracked and they killed,

without even the smallest hesitation.

***

It's in the world of men, and the most select of women,

that we're lead to what's needed, answering our calling.

Brash, and brave, we were all like madmen, so driven,

not realizing we'd start to hear the screams of the falling.

***

We were taught it was in the interest of the greater good,

all our actions from that day, in little ways the reasons we fell.

For it was actions that many would change, if only they could,

and that change they would pray would keep them from hell.

***

We were the ones, trading our souls.

Never forgetting or concerned, until we became the olds.

We were the warriors.
