Not A Professional

Waking up in a lot of pain

Body carrying yesterday's stress

Playing back everything in my head

Because I am not a professional worker

I got people lives in my hand

I put my heart into making people smile

I use my body to help people heal

To keep others safe

I use my mind to make wise decisions for others

Because I am not a professional

I am fatigued and burned out

But this is a career I prayed for

A career I got my degree and license in

Because I am not a professional

Planned to advance my knowledge and re-enter a higher-level program

To change my status to a higher unprofessional job

Hahaha!

That's insane!

Professional or unprofessional it is still my calling

Even though it is hard, it is still a place where I can fulfill my purpose

God give me strength

Make me qualified

For this profession

Because I am unprofessional by government standards
