Non-Traditional

You still caught my eye

By Ria Published 2 years ago 1 min read

It wasn't a room like any other/ Not a room in the traditional sense/ We did not have the four walls/ Though how we wish we did.

Our four walls/ Each set separated by hundreds of miles/ It wasn't your eyes at first.

First your words/ My brain wracking to imagine what you sounded like.

After a week of genuine you-ness/ I met your eyes and my heart followed my ears.

My brain tingled at the sound of your voice/ and my eyes softened at the edges of your smile.

We sat on the phone/ Our four walls finally bridged/ Hours into the night/ Genuine you-ness feeling refreshing.

Like my four walls were your four walls.
