I want to be completely chalant
hand in your back pocket
an open face locket
let them think I've "lost it"
let them judge me
for all the ways I'm loving
throwing kindness like confetti
they might not be ready
but who ever is?
I want whimsy
I want bliss
I want to dance in the rain
I want a 'just because" kiss
sharing my lip gloss
and compliments in the bathroom
with strangers
because knowing each other
doesn't put anything in danger
and if we could all just meet
between the sounds of our heartbeats
and let it be a sanctuary
where I hold space
for the baggage that you carry
you could hold mine
maybe we could break the chains
of their coins and quantum time
that shackle us to either side
it's their great divide
maybe we could all have more
of what we want
if we were more chalant.
