A Golden Shovel Poem

By Tina D. LopezPublished 7 months ago 1 min read
Before We Broke

This is it all

You & I

Need to forget everything we know

Whatever this is

Was broken by you

I trusted but shouldn’t

Silence was your favorite answer

As if

You win by being a

Tin man

You can go without

Love or a

Heart

But if anyone asks

What we were about

Remember I wanted to be yours

Golden Shovel Poem

“All I know is you shouldn’t answer if a man with a heart asks about yours” from Stephen Dunn’s poem The End of Secrecy

About the Creator

Tina D. Lopez

Finally realizing I need to start acting like the main character in my own life. Writing helps me figure out where I keep losing the plot and giving away my spotlight. My story is a big mix of drama, comedy, tragedy, thriller, and, horror.
