No More Love Songs

A Poem

No more love songs,

No more romantic melodies;

Everything’s changing and no one’s chasin’

I guess the game you were playing has ended

I wait by the clock,

Hoping something changes,

Looking through the photos;

Flicking through the pages

I don’t listen to love songs,

Or romantic melodies,

I can’t help you - I tried,

So, why are we here?

If you knew how many times I turned into a fool over you,

How many times I was told I was crazy for loving you -

You’d wonder why I’m writing about you

I lay in bed,

Staring at the door hoping you’ll come running in to hug me once more

These love songs -

They’re not helping

Skipping through the playlist,

Trying to find a statement,

A few lines that can be related to the situation
