No love letters.No big Romance

She waited for his letters, still and quiet,

Nights passed like shadows on the wall.

She told herself he’d write tomorrow,

But tomorrow never came at all.

His pen stayed silent in his hand,

The words too heavy to be free.

What if her answer broke the silence?

What if “no” was all he’d see?

She lit a candle by the window,

A tiny hope against the night.

He never saw its flicker burning,

He never dared to trust the light.

Her heart grew soft with silent dreaming,

While his grew hard with silent fear.

Both trapped inside their lonely stories,

Both wishing fate would bring them near.

Seasons turned and letters vanished,

Promises unsaid, a love unknown.

He stayed a whisper in the distance,

She stayed a shadow on her own.

And so they lived — apart, yet longing,

Two hearts too scared to meet halfway.

He never sent the words she waited,

She never knew what he would say. The End
