Nightlight

still seeing it

By Katarina TylerPublished 12 months ago • 1 min read

The nightlight in the back of your iris

just turned on

you have been waiting for me

you're the first to admit.

Sometimes you make me wonder how

anyone lives without

being held

like they are the last breath.

You’ve almost convinced me

the world is love now

if I couldn't remember

the blood in my hands I would remember

you kissed my eyes and I saw the other side of

the lies I told myself

You held my throat and

suddenly

I heard my own voice for the very first time

love poems
