Nicholas I & II
The Tales of Nicholas, and His Tragedies
Nicholas I
A son of shadows,
A son of pain,
A son of darkness,
A king he shall become.
A king of death,
A king of sorrow,
A king of martyrdom,
Immortal he shall become.
And I will be his saviour,
I will be his loyal knight,
I will be his right hand,
His king I shall become.
Nicholas II
She possesses the beauty
He does not see,
She has the sweet voice
He does not hear,
"Have you no senses"
Asked her brother,
But he has, oh, he has.
He does see beauty,
He does hear a sweet voice,
That is, from the fine gentleman
That is the lady's brother.
Tragedy, oh! Such tragedy it is
For a young boy to fall in love,
Not with the woman he was supposed to marry,
But with the man he dare not touch,
The man he dare not look at
In a loving way.
Tragedy, oh! Such tragedy is the thing called love.
