Too Sweet

Disposable emotions

under misty clouds of gray

Strawberry shaped corrosion

as I appear, dark as the lake

Smelling like distant smoke

from an imaginary fire

trying not to choke

as I sabotage the pyre

My memory on cassette

with a voice that cuts like glass

Though I try, I cannot forget

can't seem to let the moment pass

So, I cast them to the wind

or melt them bit by bit to ash

Those disposable emotions

I despise now that we're through

scattered in slow motion

those sweet memories of you
