Navigating To Unknown Shores

Prompted: #5 June Challenge [unofficial]

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a month ago Updated about a month ago 1 min read

The voice of the sea

gently whispers to me

With soft, salty whisps of the waves

Dancing on a breeze

with the sway of the trees

under the light of the moon, in its phase

Tranquil fireflies' glow, on a shelf, in a jar

As it mimics a dim lit cigar

Dusk settles into its evening array bringing day to its glorious end

Smoke clouds linger, navigating dreams, unaware

Redirecting destinations when searching for nowhere

As I begin reckoning the hues of myself

Caressed under a canvas of endless star light

Dancing somewhere on the horizon, chasing clouds out of sight

While yesterday quietly bids me, come home

I could sense myself painting hues in the sea, whilst trying to find the light in your poem. It's a perfect description of someone trying to find themselves when the colors are blurred. I loved it!
