That smile plastered Upon her face
They say her smile stretched out along many lands.
Grinning from ear to ear as the Cheshire Cat would.
It wasn’t always clear why her smile was so outstretched,
No one could ever be that happy?
Her cheeks ached with pain from her laughter lines.
Her beam seemed infectious,
Like a virus everyone wanted to catch no matter how depressed they felt.
Her smiling power seemed to spread like a knife on toast,
sliding like soft, melted butter.
Until that day she really felt blue.
Blue enough to cry a stream of tears.
The muscles in her forehead wrinkled as though crumpled autumn leaves had been stood all over.
No matter how much force she willed the tears to flow,
Her smile glistened even more strongly.
Cheeks felt as though they were about the burst for the heat,
The strength she thrusted,
Too much energy to part with.
Red like a balloon, her cheeks were
Forcing herself out of her happy state.
She longed for sadness,
She began to plea,
Her plea for sadness never came.
It seemed, she was a girl, stuck with a smile plastered upon her face.
