In the velvet night, a silver sphere aglow,
The moon ascends, a beacon in the sky's tableau.
A tranquil orb, in celestial ballet it waltzes,
Casting its gentle light as the world it mesmerizes.
A pale and distant sentinel of the cosmic sea,
In the depths of space, it wanders free.
Its face, a canvas for dreams to unfurl,
A tranquil muse for every dreaming girl and boy.
In crescent sliver or full, round and bright,
The moon enchants us with its borrowed light.
A guardian of secrets, it watches through the night,
As stars twinkle around, a constellation's flight.
It whispers tales of ancient lore,
Of lovers' trysts and oceans' roar.
It stirs the poet's heart, the lover's sigh,
A timeless witness to humanity's cry.
Moonlight bathes the Earth in silver sheen,
As night and day, in cycles, convene.
A symbol of hope in the darkest hour,
The moon's grace and beauty we forever adore.
So let us gaze upon this celestial boon,
The radiant and enigmatic face of the moon.
A silent companion in our earthly tune,
Forever in its orbit, it shall softly croon.
