My World’s Away

One day you wake up and things will be different. The world herself will be different. She won’t feel like home. You notice that she doesn’t want you. Your pleading won’t keep her here. She knows what she wants, and It isn’t you. She keeps going without stopping for you. That’s the sad reality of your life—she doesn’t want you but you can’t help needing her. She provided you with a place to spread your roots and grow with her. She gave you all the possibilities to flourish. She nurtured you and your goals, watering them with positivity and hope. She allowed you to slowly undress her, taking away all that made her beautiful. She let you bore down into her, splitting her into pieces that once made her majestic. She let you happen and now she’s falling apart. Those things she gave you, she can never get them back. She now relies on you for hope and positivity, yet you don’t care. She has given you everything she could, and that still wasn’t enough for you. You want to swim in her tears but you can’t clean off the garbage from her face. You want to conquer her tallest peaks, but you can’t seem to hear her pleas for help. She brought life to you and you are letting hers end. She’s drowning because she gave you all of herself; she gave you the world.
