My Terrestrial Luck

A poem

Loneliness is pleased to sit and exert its weighty burden on my frame and the revelation of the dark couldn’t be more threatening. I’m shattered as glass crumbles into shards and the spaces meet my sight with stark emptiness.

Perhaps, I’m a man undeserving of love, a misfit among noble, cavalier men. I starve for the bread of romance, and except I bite, the world is senseless to appeal to me.

Depression condenses on the surface of my soul and hope eludes my longings as a hot air balloon floats off the ground. Feminine exuberance is the flavour of the earth, and if I can’t acquire this exotic spice, everything is in shambles and so meaningless.

I walk the path of commoners—broken and utterly dejected. I’ve asked for romantic dates but the squad of femininity say I’ve asked for too much. My passions are a tempest contained in a bottle and they quake violently with the fury of my identity.

Womanly resplendence will stay a stranger to me, and kisses that denote sheer rapture will never intersect my path. The gods of eroticism must have unleashed their punitive wrath so the company of the opposite sex will miss my charmless presence.

But the favour of Heaven is with a myriad of mysteries so I’m touched with the flame to win and the attitude to conquer. I’m robed with the fabric of prestige and given the chances to excel in the game of attraction.

So hold me passionately as a priceless gem you’ve found, my belle. Sell the constellations to me as your lawful inheritance from the cosmos, and shine with a brilliance that sets you apart as a sensational, matchless paradigm.

Come to me as I drink from the goblet of love. I want to know the inexplicable thrill of affection and swell from kisses that inject the spirit of obsessive energy.

Satisfy my days of starvation and make up seasons of romantic hunger. I want to be acquainted with your bliss and attest to the tenderness of your fondness. So supervise the stars that sway from your majestic influence and tame a wild, lawless manifestation.

You’re the outlier in my circumstances and a lady shaped in peculiarity. Now drop your splendour on the landscapes of my heart so I’m bewitched by a captivating, feminine sizzle. On the terrains of the earth, you’re a sure marvel and certainly my terrestrial luck.
