My Take on "Love at First Sight"

It can’t matter to go wrong if it’s finally not that so it’s no big deal.

One is for unity.

Love at first sight is quite vast.

It can concern romance.

It can link to friendships.

It can involve pets.

It can be triggered by places.

It can relate to objects.

It can be mistaken.

All that might differ is the level of intensity.

Love at first sight is often undermined.

Some say it only exists in movies.

Some suggest they’re not worthy of it.

Some claim it takes luck.

Some prefer to deny it.

Some annihilate opportunities.

Some make it a war zone.

It’s hard to get the point.

Love at first sight is defined by perceptions.

It’s based on energetic feelings.

It’s a reflection of circumstances.

It’s fueled by passion.

It’s guided by intuition.

It’s dependent on a state of mind.

It’s impossible when it’s de facto dismissed.

In my dictionary it’s everything he is.

Love at first sight is what it seemingly came down to.

It wasn’t surprising since a call about highway safety made me smile.

It wasn’t lust despite him revealing to be very attractive.

It wasn’t an option because it was professional.

It wasn’t long before I wondered what life would be if I chose me.

It wasn’t caution without care.

It wasn’t a hell of a trip.

At first I said “no way” as if my life was threatened.

Love at first sight resumed almost five years later.

By then there was no more context.

By then I realized only my life with him was ever at stake.

By then his dinner invitation spawned drastic warmth.

By then I again turned it down for no good reason.

By then it only took two more days of his eternal persistence.

By then I understood vulnerability was mandatory to be in control.

It must’ve really been time because I even noticed a cosmic connection.

Love at first sight isn’t debatable.

Some said “please don’t”.

Some saw a mountain on flat ground.

Some assumed the end.

Some know he works his ass off.

Some are aware he cries over the pain of others.

Some should assume he was refined by brokenness.

If saying “pass” was an escape route it wouldn’t exist.

Love at first sight isn’t stagnant.

It’s made me swelter.

It’s generated euphoria.

It’s created insecurities.

It’s provoked squabbles.

It’s surprised me to believe in the status quo.

It’s ascertained when it can’t be tamed.

That’s how our story is going so far.

Love at first sight has no limits.

It can always happen.

It can never be controlled.

It can change the color of the sky.

It can slam your wall with a hairbrush.

It can only go wrong when it’s not that.

It can even turn into a love letter.

I’ve said “run but don’t hide” as if hiding could even work.

Eight is for infinity.

*

A force to reckon with is an understatement.
