If today was any other would there be tears
If today was any other this would be easy
If today was any other who would write dears
If today was any other your hair a daisy
A flower to match your beauty and grace
The sun mocks me with its warmth and light
A blossom of beauty perfect in lace
A beam of sunlight, a vision in white
Toes in the grass, birds singing, hand in hand
Getting ready for him to be your light
Forever at your side there I will stand
Remember not your smile be as bright
Sister, I compare thee to summer’s end
Your radiance as the sun, my best friend
