A breathtakingly beautiful rose,

you are quite the sight to behold….

My seemingly fairytale just waiting to unfold…

The part of my life that’s yet to be told…

By Cosmic Timetraveler on Unsplash

But even the most beautiful roses have thorns.

Isn’t pain a part of living?

And isn’t life supposed to be beautiful?

Life is a beautiful tragedy, they say…

And so are we…

There is no gain

without some form of pain.

All I ask is that I don’t do this in vain…

So capture me with your beauty…

Pierce me with those eyes…

Stab me with your thorns…

But,

as they meticulously slice into my skin,

is it to let my demons out

or to invite more of them in?

By Kellie Shepherd Moeller on Unsplash

I was broken before…

Will you break me even more?

Or will you help me pick those broken pieces off of the floor?

I guess only time will tell

if this will be my fairytale…

And so the saga continues…
