My pretties

Beyond Time and Behind Stars

By Sabayo MatikuPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

My spiders love my house

Yet I do not like them in it.

They spin and spin, clouds of

Gray on my ceilings & walls…

I feel an urge to cleanse them

From my space;

No, it’s not appropriate for us

To share this space.

I thank them for their tenacity

And adaptability — most inspiring!

I love them, I do… and I can

Love them from an arms length away

Just as fiercely.

So here comes time

To find you a new abode,

One free of paint — and, no,

Not my rhododendron pot by

The windowsill — open to the wind.

Run wild, my pretties!

But… outside my house!
