My missing piece

Not all paths are smooth, but if it led to you, it was worth it.

My missing piece

My heart, shattered,

scattered, and fragments of

what used to be whole.

Now unrecognizable around me.

.

My spirit, crushed,

trampled and stepped on,

now only a shadow of what once was.

Dejected and rejected by everyone before.

.

Then,

You called my name.

My head tipped up to see you,

collecting the pieces on the ground.

.

You picked up the pieces

and held them close.

It took time,

You were patient with my delicate spirit.

.

Taking pieces from your own broken heart,

I watched the gentle movement of your hands.

You fitted your shattered heart

to the shards of mine.

.

Our past, though broken and long,

was needed for us to fit.

For my heart to complete yours

and you to complete mine.
