My Knight of the Night

My knight of the night

came riding into my heart,

With armor of shadows,

a realm set apart,

A whisper of darkness,

a gleam in his eye,

He spoke of the stars,

the moon’s silent cry.

Through veils of the dusk,

he galloped so near,

A warrior of dreams,

with no trace of fear,

His steed moved like whispers,

so gentle, so bold,

As if time stood still

in the silence of gold.

His voice was a murmur,

a deep, soothing song,

That echoed through night,

where I’d belonged.

With every breath,

he unlocked a door,

To chambers of longing,

where love once swore.

He reached for my soul

with a gloved, tender hand,

Drawing me closer,

like grains of the sand.

And though his face hid

behind the night’s veil,

In his presence, I knew

love would prevail.

My knight of the night,

with eyes full of flame,

Came riding into my heart,

and called me by name.

Through darkness and dawn,

in shadows we roam,

Together we wander,

together we’re home.
