Eclipse by Sorrow

Beneath the weight of sorrow's shadowed veil,

I wander through this aching, empty night.

My heart, a fragile bird, too weak to sail,

Falls silent in the absence of your light.

Each breath I take is heavy with despair,

As memories cascade like silent rain.

Your laughter, now a ghost within the air,

Calls out to me, but only brings me pain.

I trace the lines of joy that once we knew,

Now shattered shards that cut my soul so deep.

Our dreams, once bright, have vanished like the dew,

Leaving behind the scars that make me weep.

The world around is painted in your hues,

Yet every color fades to shades of gray.

The songs we shared, the tender words we used,

Are echoes now, that haunt my every day.

In moonlit rooms where love once danced and played,

I sit alone, a prisoner to my tears.

The promises, the plans we softly made,

Now lost to time, dissolve into my fears.

Oh, how I wish to feel your warmth again,

To touch the hand that once held mine so tight.

But all that’s left are whispers in the wind,

A broken heart that shivers in the night.

I close my eyes and see your smile, so sweet,

It breaks my heart to think of what we’ve lost.

For in my dreams, your love I still repeat,

A fleeting ghost, forever tempest-tossed.

So here I stand, on sorrow’s lonely shore,

My heart a shipwrecked soul, adrift, undone.

I’ll carry you within my core, once more,

Until the stars eclipse the morning sun.
