My Grandfather’s House
My childhood happy place

My Grandfather’s House
My grandfather’s house stood strong in stone
a place where love was always known
the garden hummed with bees at play
and sunshine lingered most the day
The kitchen smelled of bread and tea
the clock ticked slow and steady for me
I heard the creak of well worn chairs
his gentle laughter filled the stairs
The fire would glow with golden light
its warmth could carry through the night
I traced the patterns on the wall
while stories drifted soft and small
The windows opened wide to song
the birds stayed near the whole day long
the orchard sweet with fruit and shade
where childhood’s finest games were made
The path of stone beneath my feet
the flowers bright the air so sweet
each corner held a tender sign
a memory that still feels mine
Though time has taken him away
his house still lives in me today
for every step and sound and view
remains as bright as morning new
