My Forever

I could never forget our love

I told you you'd rise like a phoenix

I didn't know I would drown in the river

I said you were my forever

Even though at times you couldn't see it

You made me feel so clever

Even though sometimes I didn't feel it

I bet I would make a good Professor

Who in their right mind would believe it?

I want you to know I'm changing for the better,

because you steadied our relationship

I want you to know I could never forget our love,

and I'm grateful for your forgiveness

I told you you'd rise like a phoenix

I didn't know I would drown in the river

I said you were my forever

Even though at times you couldn't see it
