Some are bent or broken
But each branch is part of me
Rooted in the soil of complete complexity
Twigs of truth and wisdom blended
With subtle hints of dis-functionality
We all live our lives pretending
That it’s exactly what we need
Denying we need pruning
Afraid to cut away the weeds
Desperately trying to hold on to something
We’ve seen in n someone else’s tree
Consumed with our disappointments
Trying to sell some make believe
Sparking the magic of a moment
Sprouting possibilities like leaves
Holding on to the promises
That what we reap is what we sow
Embracing all the obstacles
That encourages our growth
