My Dad

I Love you Dad

My Dad

I think of you every morning, and your name still warms the air,

the way your presence once did, when life felt steady and kind.

I miss the calm you brought to me, the quiet strength in your smile,

and the way you made the world feel safe without even trying.

The days feel thinner without you, and the nights cut deeper now,

as if the dark remembers you and keeps reminding me you’re gone.

I walk through rooms that hold your echo, breathing in the trace of you,

hoping the love I still carry somehow reaches where you are.

I miss your laugh and its comfort, the gentle way you talked to me,

how you knew the truth of my heart before I even spoke a word.

You were the one who steadied me, who showed me how to stand strong,

and losing you tore a place inside me that never truly heals.

This hurt runs through my days, like a shadow that won’t move,

and some nights I feel it rise so sharply it steals my breath.

You were my guide and my grounding, the very best man I ever knew,

and I’d give anything for one more moment with you here.

I talk to you in the quiet, hoping somehow you hear my voice,

hoping love reaches further than distance, further than time.

I carry you in every step I take, in every choice I try to make,

because you shaped the person I am and the heart I still hold.

I love you, Dad, deeper than these lines, deeper than this ache,

and I miss you with a heaviness no one else will ever know.

If heaven listens on nights like this, let me feel you close again,

just for a heartbeat, just long enough to remind me I’m not alone.
