My City

Birmingham UK

You may have seen a girl

Walking around the town today

With a camera in her hands

And not a word to say

You may have seen her at The Bull

Or by the building with the bubbles

You may have seen her in the park

Where the pigeons cause the trouble.

Or was she by the Town Hall

In all its ancient glory?

Or was she at Grand Central

Trying to tell the world your story?

Did you see her in Vic Square?

Standing next to the old floozy

The floozy's in a garden now

No sign of the jacuzzi.

Let's not forget Snow Hill,

Where the suits all tend to mingle,

And as she walked down Colmore Row,

St. Phillip's Cathedral jingled.

And over there is Alpha Tower

Where our story began

That's where I met the love of my life

And I'm marrying that man.

You may know it as "Birmingham",

"The Second City",

Or just "Brum";

But this city, is my city;

And I'm proud of where I'm from.
