You wilted her;

She trusted you and you chose to let her petals wilt and rot;

She came to you hurt and looking for a prince;

She didn't realize you were a dark prince.

Your past was dark, that much is true.

That didn't matter to her.

But you let it consume you.

You forgot to shower her with your love.

So she wilted.

She chose to draw in on herself and not let the world in.

You told her she was poison;

What's worse she believed it for a time.

But alas!

She cannot die.

So as the sun shines she regains her strength and her dignity.

She will outshine you because she has sunshine inside her that can't be dimmed.

He won't let that warrior spirit in her die.

She simply cannot.

So little by little and day by day...

She blooms a little more.

Remember this, she can wilt.

She can take hits.

She will not die.

About the Creator

Lindsey Altom

For me, writing runs in the blood. I've written songs, poems and short stories ever since I was a little girl. I mostly like to write about my life experiences mixed with a little fiction or just things that come off the top of my head!
