MY ADDICTION

My addiction

My feelings, I scribble;

My heartaches, I doodle;

My Pen, I wiggle.

My addiction

Comes in free verse,

Sometimes my thoughts are in reverse,

And sometimes it’s just a blank verse.

My addiction

Poetry that may be in dissonance,

When I’m playing around, consonance,

And when I’m in love with vowels, assonance.

My Addiction

Makes my heart transparent;

All I’m feeling, apparent;

And to my readers, translucent.

My addiction

Yes, with Poetry, I’m intoxicated,

Blissful lines from a soul that’s dead,

And in all the ecstasy, your soul, enchanted.

My addiction; Poetry,

My addiction; Writing,

My addiction; Scribbling my emotions,

Sadness or Joy,

In love or Heartbroken,

In tears or ecstatic,

Poetry is my addiction.

Or maybe it is more than an addiction,

Maybe it is a condition,

A gift to express my emotions,

Pen on paper, constantly in motion,

Colourfully breathing life into words without exhalation.

POETRY, THAT’S MY ADDICTION!
