Mute No More
January 23, 2013
My voice,
My sound snubbed,
My say,
Not cared for
Not listening,
Not sure if you even heard,
I’m on mute,
Volume control is broken
The vibrations of my voice
Cannot be felt
Making no difference
In this reality
But there must be one
Where I was heard
There must be a time, a place
When, where I was understood
I’m on mute
No sound comes forth
Try to make a fire
To send some signals out
But alas, no spark,
Not a single flare to send,
No way to convey
My plight
I sit and ponder,
No time to squander
So I take flight
With the aid of a single feather
From the tail of a mighty creature
And I make haste
I go forth and speak,
For my voice,
Will no longer be squelched,
No longer silent
Muted, once before,
Zipper and thread make
For fine lines across the mouth,
Zipper or thread I used to ask,
But now I say unfasten those teeth
And cut that string
