A Love Poem

Is there such a thing as love at first kiss?

I mean those other guys were good but baby yours was perfect!

Must be them butter lips,

You're my Ms. Butter Lips,

And like Mrs. Butterworth's your sweetness sticks on me longer than I'd like to admit, til' I'm literally stitched to your hip.

I never wanna leave your side for fear that someone else will sweep you off your feet like a rip tide,

Leaving me just as salty as the ocean.

Leaving me parched because salt water can't quench thirst.

You were my first for a lot of things.

You were the one who helped me discover I could sing,

Cuz every time we do our thing you make me hit that falsetto!

You have my body on lock like bolted doors in the ghetto.

Making me stand up straight when you're around,

you play me like your cello.

And it's so beautiful how even when shit tries to chop us down,

we just regrow like nails from cuticles.

There's no limit to how far our love can reach cuz our love is in our actions not just our speech.

Not blasted on statuses, cuffing pics, and tweets.

Baby, you're fire and I'm willing to take the heat.

You're perfect.

There's not a thing I would tweak

I love you from your cheeks to your cheeks and everything above and below.

I know you get shy so I don't put these heavy feelings on display,

This is just a lil' lovin' to hold you til Valentine's Day.
