At the end of the corner

Where they call the street dead

All the shadows transform

And the porch lights turn red

Sits a house on a hill

With black doors and no windows

The owners dressed to kill

And they say his name is October

All the neighbors tell tales

Of strange things happening there

They’ve heard screaming and wails

And seen things floating in air

The lines, lined with crows

Masquerading as ravens

And though everyone knows

It seems that nothing can stop them

From donning their masks

And knocking on the doors

Every trick or treater must ask

To get what they came there for

As you approach the gate

The sidewalks start to shiver

There’s an hour long wait

Speakers are blasting out thriller

There’s a party inside

And everybody is dancing

Just one day on this night

Everything seems so enchanting

Everyone coming together

Dressed as somebody else

Though it can’t last forever

We take just enough for ourselves

To last till the next one comes around

And October turns on his lights

Where we will be found getting down

Again on Halloween night
