Moments Of Impact

Poem

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 4 months ago Updated 4 months ago 1 min read

I beg for respiration

With fingers pressed around my neck

Grace appears in sand like pebbles

Needing a path of separation

I bottled the way you make me feel

like the cologne upon my dresser

Displaying my dark confessions

Devoured as your final meal

You break bread over my sins

Needing me to hold the blade

Endlessly dragging self made chains

Chosen to bind my spirit with

An empty vessel, mend-less

Your tattered piece of art

A captured, broken heart

Discarded and meaningless

A momentary vision

Into the world you lay before me

In real time when we first

Connected in collision
