fir trees hidden in curtains of morning mist,
eerie looming outlines
moisture melds its magic
moulding miniature puddles
on pines and primroses
mist so deep it hides secrets
behind its veil
honking geese cries echoing, their
misty morning disturbed by
some invisible intruder
slinking in the reeds
yet, perhaps they were locating
companions, using the damp air
in echolocation
their friends unseen behind the mist
wait - were they calling to me?
