Misty Existence

Was it ever really there?

She disappears with the mist.

When she calls out, no one hears.

Did she ever exist?

.

Invisible to the world, her cheeks were kissed

Not by loving lips but with wet tears.

She disappears with the mist.

.

Connections always ended up missed

Amongst both strangers and her peers.

Did she ever exist?

.

I’m here for a reason, her mind used to insist—

A lie she tried hard to believe for so many years.

She disappears with the mist.

.

But she decided one day there’s no reason to persist

As every reason to stay eventually disappears

Did she ever exist?

.

No, I will matter one day! - a last feeble attempt to resist

But inevitably, trapped by one of her biggest fears,

She disappears with the mist.

Did she ever exist?
