Missing You

At first there was confusion

And a blur of things to do,

A sense of my world shifting

Like a painting hung askew,

And I kept myself so busy with the

List of things to do,

But nothing kept my thoughts far from the pain of

___________.

All our friends and family kept forming

In a queue,

With casseroles and cookies made to

Keep from feeling blue,

We spoke of how the seasons fly

Over a cup of brew,

But no-one wants to hear about my pain at

___________.

I meet with a grief therapist

Each Wednesday at two.

She talks of dialectics and

The way two things are true.

She says it’s fine to laugh sometimes

But still feel broken too,

It helps me come to grips with the dark space of

___________.

My Mother thinks it's time that I try

Finding someone new,

She tells me I’m still young and that

She knows you’d want me to.

I know she’s only trying to help,

But hate her point of view.

How could a new romance begin while I’m still

___________.

It’s been three years this Autumn

And I don’t know what to do,

I know I should be moving on

Yet I’m still stuck like glue.

And all the world keeps turning

And our loved ones move on too,

But how can I let go of grief and not keep

___________?
