Missing her—
Missing the little girl
Folded inside of me
Like Matryoshka dolls
Who befriended
Anyone wearing a matching dress
Who was innocent enough
To trust anyone with a lolly–pop
Missing her—
Missing the little girl
To who pain
Was a skinned knee
And tears
Was nothing but a wetness
For a brief moment
Missing her—
The golden-haired girl
With a sunhat and sunglasses
Picking flowers
Missing her—
Missing the little girl
Who once was
But grew up

Oh thank God she grew up! You had me so worried and the end was uplifting. Beautiful poem, great job!!
