I buy items from a list that isn't mine

walking down an aisle quietly in someone else's shoes

transported instantly into another time

lost in the rhythm of a lyric of another's favorite tune

slanting the curve to match the ink left in a letter

handwritten love languages that I could once command

holding it to my chest to make me feel better

feeling the empty warmth where once there was a hand
